Your first week

The seven steps on Home that take a new project to real results, with nothing to connect.

"Your first week" is a card on Home for new projects. It lists seven steps that get real value from Rankfender. There is nothing to connect: Rankfender collects the data itself. Each step gets a ✓ once it's done, and the card counts "… of 7 done".

The seven steps

#Step (as shown)What to doOpens
1"Check what we understood about …"Read the summary Rankfender wrote from your site. Fix anything that's off with "Review and edit", or press "Looks right".Settings › Brand Book
2"Confirm your competitors"Check the competitors Rankfender found, remove wrong ones and add the ones you know ("See and edit the list").Competitors › AI answers
3"See what AI assistants say about you""Read the answers": how many name you, and who is recommended instead. If no check has run yet, "Start the first check" (about 8 minutes, 25 credits).AI Visibility › Answers
4"Pick your first keyword to target"Choose a search people really make and press its target icon; it goes into your content plan. Keywords › Opportunities
5"Get your first article"Write one planned article (30 credits), then copy it, download it as a Word file or share a link. No website connection needed.Planning › Calendar
6"Fix your top site problem"Open the top critical problem from the site check; each one says how to fix it. Then run a new check. With no check yet: "Run the site check".Optimizer
7"Get a weekly report by email""Turn on" sends a report every Monday on your searches, AI answers, competitors and content to your e-mail address.Reports

A step that is still working shows a waiting line, for example "We're still reading your site." It updates by itself.

"Needs you first" and "After that"

  • "Needs you first" appears above the steps when something blocks progress: part of your setup didn't finish ("Try again"), or Google Search Console stopped sending data ("Reconnect Google").
  • "After that" lists other useful actions from Next steps that the seven steps don't already cover.

How long the card stays

The card stays on Home for the project's first 30 days, until all seven steps are done. After that, Home shows "Next steps" in the same place: see Next steps, site health and links.

Tip

Steps 3 and 5 use credits. Your balance is in the credits chip at the top of the screen; see Monthly credits.
