Running AI checks

How an AI check works, which assistants answer, how to run one, how often checks run on each plan and what a check costs in credits.

An AI check puts your active questions to each assistant selected for the project, then reads every answer. It runs on a schedule, weekly by default, and you can start one yourself at any time.

What a check asks

  • Which questions: your active questions, up to your plan's ceiling (15, 30, 80 or unlimited). Paused questions are skipped.
  • Which assistants: the ones selected in "Monitoring Settings" (below).
  • How many answers: questions × assistants. 15 questions on 5 assistants make 75 answers.
  • Manual or scheduled: "Run AI check" asks every active question again. A scheduled check skips answers collected in the last 24 hours.

Note

Rankfender asks up to 8 AI assistants: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Grok, Llama and Mistral. How many depends on your plan (Essential 5, Professional 7, Business and Agencies all 8) and on the assistants you select in "Monitoring Settings". Perplexity answers with live web sources.

An assistant that has not answered in the last 14 days shows "No answer since …" in Summary › "By AI assistant". Older answers are kept.

Run a check now

  1. Click "Run AI check"

The button is on the Summary and Answers tabs ("Ask every AI assistant your questions again now"). On a new project it reads "Run the first AI check".

  2. Follow the progress

A chip shows "AI check" with "… of … answers in". "Details" opens the "AI check" window with the live log. You can close it at any time: "The AI check keeps running" and results appear when it is done.

  3. Stop it if needed

"Cancel Analysis" in the window stops the check. "Answers collected so far are kept."

  4. Read the results

"AI check finished. Your new answers are in." Summary, Answers, Competitors and Home update by themselves.

MessageMeaning
"An AI check is already running"A check started by you, by setup or by the schedule is in progress. Its progress is shown instead.
"The AI check couldn't start""Please try again in a minute."
"The AI check stopped""Some answers may be missing. You can run it again."

Change the schedule and the assistants

  1. Open the Questions tab

Click one of the three cards at the top: "Questions in each check", "Check schedule" or "Assistants asked".

  2. Choose in "Monitoring Settings"

Under "AI Models", tick the assistants; a counter shows how many your plan allows. Under "Frequency", pick "Daily", "Every 2 days" or "Weekly" among those your plan offers. This window is in English in every language.

  3. Click "Save Settings"

The next scheduled check follows the new settings.

Pay as you go has Essential's limits. Every plan starts on "Weekly"; checking more often is your choice.

Tip

Select the assistants that answer. A selected assistant that returns nothing uses a place in your selection and adds no answers.

What a check costs

AI checks use your credits, the scheduled ones too. A typical check of 15 questions on 2 assistants costs about 25 credits; more questions or more assistants cost more, a daily schedule costs more than a weekly one. When credits run out: "New AI checks, content and data wait until you top up or your credits renew. Everything already saved stays visible." See Monthly credits.

Why numbers move between checks

Assistants answer a little differently each time, even to the same question. Each check replaces the stored answer for every question and assistant, so a value can rise or fall by a few points without anything changing on your side. Judge the trend over several checks, not one result.
