Generate ideas

  1. Click "Generate Smart Ideas"

The button sits at the top right of the tab. It appears once your first answers are in.

  2. Wait for the analysis

Rankfender reads your stored answers: where competitors are named and you are not, the sites assistants cite, questions where your visibility is low, negative tone and differences between assistants. It writes the ideas in your project's language.

  3. Filter and read

Filter the cards by kind: "All", "Platform", "Model Gap", "Backlinks", "Emerging", "Competitor", "Brand Gap", "Visibility", "Citations".

What an idea card shows

  • Its kind (table below) and, for platform ideas, the site concerned (Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn…).
  • "+… visibility": the gain the generator expects. It is an estimate, not a measurement.
  • Title and description; open the card to read "Why This Content Closes the Gap:".
  • "Target Keywords" taken from the answers, the competitors concerned, and the language and country.
KindWhat it points at
Competitor GapQuestions where competitors are named and you are not.
Brand MissingQuestions where no answer names you.
Low VisibilityQuestions where you are named rarely or late.
Citation GapPages that assistants cite and that don't mention you.
Platform GapSites such as Reddit, YouTube or review sites that assistants rely on and where you are absent.
Sentiment IssueAnswers that speak of you negatively.
Model DisparityAn assistant that names you much less than the others.
Emerging ThreatA brand that starts to be named in your answers.
Backlink OpportunitySites cited by assistants that could link to you.

Put an idea in your plan

  • "Add to Planning" creates an article idea with the idea's title, description and keywords, on the next free day of your editorial calendar. Write it from there; see Editorial calendar. An article typically costs about 30 credits.
  • "Add Playbook" appears on platform ideas. It adds the step-by-step instructions to your plan: work you do yourself, such as answering on a forum, not an article Rankfender writes.
  • "Delete" removes the idea for good; you would need to generate ideas again to get it back.

Tip

Ideas also start from Summary: "Get content ideas" on the "By topic" and "By buying stage" cards, and the questions listed under "Questions you lose". Start with lost questions at the "Ready to buy" stage: those buyers are closest to choosing.
