Link gap
Who has the most linking sites, and the sites that link to your competitors but not to you.
Link gap lists the sites that link to your competitors but not to you. A site that already links to several of them is the easiest to win: it covers your topic and links out. The view always covers your 5 closest competitors at once.

The four figures
| Figure | What it shows |
|---|---|
| "Your authority" | Your link strength from 0 to 100, next to the strongest competitor's. |
| "Sites linking to you" | Different sites that link to you, next to the competitors' average. |
| "Sites to win" | Sites that link to your top competitors but not to you. |
| "Link to 2+ competitors" | How many of those sites link to two competitors or more: "the warmest prospects". Click either of these two figures to filter the table. |
Who has the most linking sites
One bar per site, you included: how many different sites link to each, with its authority on the right.
Sites that link to them, not to you
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| "Site" | The linking site. Click it to open the site and see where the link sits. |
| "Authority" | That site's link strength from 0 to 100. Higher links pass more strength. |
| "Links to" | Which competitors it links to; hover a chip to read "N links to …". |
| "Links" | Total links from this site to your competitors. |
| "Latest link" | When its newest link to a competitor was first seen. |
Sites that link to the most competitors come first, then the strongest. Narrow the list with "How many competitors they link to" ("All" or "2+ competitors"), "Minimum authority" and "Filter sites". "Export CSV" downloads the list.
How the list is built
For each of your 5 closest competitors, Rankfender takes up to 200 of the strongest sites that link to it, removes every site that already links to you and leaves out spammy sites. If the gap is empty, you see "No gap found — every site linking to them links to you too."
Get links
"Get links" opens Backlinks. Done-for-you link building, with a monthly budget, a roadmap and links placed and verified by our team, is on Business and Agencies Business and up. See Backlinks overview.
Note
Link counts and authority come from a link index. No index knows every link on the web, so a site may link to a competitor without appearing here, and a link that was removed recently may still be counted.
These are estimates
Visits, keywords, positions and traffic value come from a search-data provider. Visits are worked out from the positions a site holds and how many people usually click at each position. They are not the competitor's own analytics and can differ a lot from what the site really gets. Use them to compare sites with each other, not as exact counts.
