What is Sitemap Management?
The Sitemap feature allows Rankfender to understand your website's existing structure. This enables smarter internal linking, content gap identification, and avoids duplicate content creation.
Importing Your Sitemap
- Go to Project Settings → Sitemap
- Enter your sitemap URL (e.g.,
https://example.com/sitemap.xml) - Click "Import"
- Rankfender parses all URLs and categorizes them
How the Sitemap is Used
- Internal Linking: Generated articles automatically link to relevant existing pages
- Duplicate Prevention: Avoids generating content for topics you already cover
- Content Gaps: Identifies topics missing from your current sitemap
- URL Structure: Respects your site's URL patterns when suggesting slugs
Automatic Refresh
Rankfender automatically re-fetches your sitemap periodically to stay up to date. You can also trigger a manual refresh at any time from the settings page.
Tips
- Make sure your sitemap is complete and up to date for best results
- Include blog posts, product pages, and key landing pages
- Exclude irrelevant URLs (e.g., admin pages, utility pages) from your sitemap
